MCC International - Centrifugal Casting History
William H. Miller founded Miller Centrifugal Casting Co., in 1957. A true entrepreneur, Mr. Miller started his company as a one-man operation and grew it to the 50+ employee facility that it is today. It was Mr. Miller's desire to eventually have a company that could produce the largest and broadest range of centrifugal castings in North America. He eventually fulfilled that desire and decided it was time to retire.
In 1998, Mr. Miller sold the company to Acutus Gladwin Industries of Coraopolis, PA. AGi, as they were referred to, was a steel mill repair and rebuilding company with locations in the US, Canada and Australia. AGi had a sincere interest in Miller Centrifugal's ferrous casting division and had hoped to incorporate Miller's mill rolls into their rebuilding and repair services. Unfortunately, with the declining steel industry in the United States, AGi was forced to seek bankruptcy protection by filing chapter 11 in December of 2001.
As part of AGi's restructuring effort, Miller Centrifugal Casting was put up for auction in March 2002. Miller Centrifugal was purchased by MCC Holdings, LLC in April 2002.
MCC Holdings, LLC then sold the assets of the company to the Austrian based roll manufacturer ESW (Eisenwerk Sulzau - Werfen) in August 2009 and MCC International Inc. came into existence.
The companies are being operated as two separate entities but are working very closely together in order to strengthen and grow their global market presence. There is a mutual belief that superior quality, know-how and customer service will lead to long term success. Both organizations share similar values and recognize the fundamental importance of placing customers first.
