Quality Control Process

Casting hardness being tested by a Quality EngineerQuality centrifugal casting is the result of strict adherence to defined procedures at Miller Centrifugal Casting Company. Process engineers at MCC carefully monitor and control the production of each casting from mold design to alloying, melting, casting and CNC finish machining.

After mold selection and or design, casting technicians monitor solidification techniques, pouring procedures and RPMs to ensure a part free of shrinking voids, oxides and impurities.

Experienced and trained melt shop managers monitor each heat to make certain that the melt is gas-free and to assure that all specifications are met.

Casting Measurements being checkedOur controlled processing continues in the casting process to ensure a rapid rate of heat transfer, which results in a fine equaixed grain structure in the solidified casting. Mold temperature, pouring temperature and pouring rate are maintained exactly as specified.

Quality casting control consists of spectrochemical, laboratory and shop checks at each step of the casting process. Finish machining is performed in MCC's modern CNC shop, programmed by our CAD/CAM system.
